12 Bar Blues
Author: Justin Sandercoe Another important early lesson on the guitar, the famous 12 Bar Blues. It is probably the most used blues chord sequence, is usually the same but has some variations that are quite common (some are discussed in the book). The one presented here is the most basic version, and needs to be mastered before moving on to the variations. It is played with your first finger in the second fret (4th string) and your 3rd finger goes off and on the 4th fret (4th string). You play each note twice with the open 5th string below it (up actually?). Follow the TAB and you should be home and hosed. Really concentrate on getting a good feel, listen to some old Chuck Berry or Rolling Stones songs for great examples of this.
